• The Zags underperformed expectations all year -- traditional and pre-season --didn't win the WCC regular season, needed a third try to beat Saint Mary's yet are still in KenPom's Top 10 predictive metric. They're the potential 8-9 seed a No. 1 seed really doesn't want any part of in Round 2.
• Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard are about as solid a pitch-and-catch combination as you'll find and Nembhard has shot damn near 40% from 3-point range this season.
• Your brother-in-law is a moron, but will pick Gonzaga into the Regional Final and probably be right because of course he is.
• They are one of the most experienced teams in America and seem to have been cruising a lot of the year, a trend they know cannot be continued now.
• They're biggest losses this year were by eight points and both of those were in OT. They will not be blown out and have a better roster than almost every team they will face. That's a tough out no matter the seed pairing.
